Elevating the Hygiene Experience

Most dental cleanings are rushed, uncomfortable, and focused only on surface-level treatment. At Three Two Three®, we've reimagined hygiene around prevention, comfort, and protecting your long-term health.

Why Patients Love Guided Biofilm Therapy

Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) is a modern, science-based approach to professional dental cleanings that gently removes harmful biofilm—the sticky bacteria responsible for cavities, gum disease, and inflammation. Using advanced airflow technology, warm water, and fine powder, GBT provides a more comfortable, touchless cleaning experience while helping preserve your natural teeth and gums.

Rather than simply polishing your teeth, Guided Biofilm Therapy allows our team to identify and remove biofilm with precision, supporting healthier gums, fresher breath, and better long-term oral and overall health. It's preventative dentistry at its best—thorough, minimally invasive, and designed to keep you smiling for years to come.

Why Patients Love Our Hygiene Experience

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What makes Three Two Three® Dentistry different?

Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) is a systematic approach to professional dental hygiene that focuses on identifying and removing dental biofilm. The protocol combines assessment, biofilm disclosure and professional cleaning technologies to help the hygienist see where biofilm is present and target those areas during treatment.

At Three Two Three® Dentistry, GBT is part of a larger philosophy: your hygiene appointment isn’t simply about leaving with clean teeth. We use the visit to evaluate your oral health, identify areas that need attention and help you understand how to care for your smile between appointments.

  • Is Guided Biofilm Therapy painful?

GBT is designed with patient comfort and minimally invasive biofilm removal in mind, but every patient’s experience and sensitivity level is different. The protocol uses air-polishing and other professional technologies selected according to the patient’s clinical needs.

If you have sensitive teeth, tender gums or dental anxiety, tell your hygienist. We can take the time to understand what makes you comfortable and adapt your hygiene visit appropriately.

  • How often should I schedule dental hygiene appointments?

There is no single hygiene schedule that is right for every patient. The appropriate interval depends on your oral health, history of gum disease, risk factors, home care and other individual needs. The ADA recommends regular dental care with recall intervals tailored to the patient’s risk of disease.

Patients with a history of periodontitis may require more frequent periodontal maintenance. The ADA notes that following periodontal treatment, maintenance intervals may be as frequent as every three to six months depending on the patient.

At Three Two Three® Dentistry, we recommend your next hygiene visit based on what we actually see—not simply a one-size-fits-all calendar.

  • Can regular dental hygiene help prevent future dental work?

Preventive dental care can reduce the risk of problems that may eventually require more extensive treatment, but no cleaning can guarantee that you will never need dental work. Consistent home care and professional dental care help manage risk for conditions such as tooth decay and gum disease. The ADA specifically notes that appropriate home oral care can help lessen the need for extensive dental intervention in the future.

That’s why prevention is central to our approach. We would rather identify a concern early, help you manage your risk and preserve healthy teeth whenever possible than wait until a small problem becomes a larger one.

  • Is Guided Biofilm Therapy good for patients with dental anxiety?

GBT can be a good option to discuss if traditional dental cleanings make you anxious or uncomfortable. The GBT protocol was developed with comfort and minimally invasive treatment among its goals, although individual experiences vary.

Technology is only part of the experience at Three Two Three® Dentistry. We believe comfort also comes from having enough time, knowing what is happening and developing trust with a hygienist who gets to know you. If you are nervous about dental care, let us know before your appointment so we can make your experience as comfortable as possible.

  • Are your fees higher because you use Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT)?

The cost of a hygiene visit depends on the care you need, not simply on the use of GBT. Different patients may require preventive cleaning, periodontal therapy, periodontal maintenance or other services based on their oral health.

Before treatment, our team can explain the care being recommended and the associated fees. If you have dental insurance, coverage and out-of-pocket costs will depend on your individual plan.
